Our approach to money
is a little bit different.

We work with our clients to establish their
true goals and objectives, and devise the
right financial roadmap to make sure they
achieve them.

We’re so much more than our client’s financial planners. We are their coach, we understand their financial potential, we are the mirror when tough conversations need to be had, we are the referee on the family board when big decisions are being made, we are the kind hand that guides our clients through life’s challenges and changes.

Helping our clients is our passion, and we pride ourselves on giving precious time back to them. Every day we are rewarded by the fact that our clients can relax and leave behind their stress and worry about money, because they know that they are implementing a financial plan that will achieve their short and long-term goals.

Our values – innovation, empathy, respect, honesty and commitment – are reflected in everything we do, and our tight-knit team loves to bounce ideas off each other whilst still taking time out to enjoy ourselves.

Here at Tribeca, we don’t just talk about our good life – we live and breathe it.

Meet the people who can help
you live the life you want.

Ryan Watson

Bachelor of Arts/Commerce, Deakin University, 2003 Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, Finsia, 2005 Association of Financial Advisers Rising Star Finalist, 2008/09 Partaking in the AFA Genxt Mentor Program (Mentor) Ryan doesn’t like financial planning. He loves it. He started out at Mercer, working in their superannuation master trust, before taking an Associate Advisory role at OAMPS Insurance Brokers. It wasn’t long before he made the move to become a fully-fledged Financial Adviser. In 2007, he opened his first financial planning firm, paving the way to three successful business partnerships. He founded Tribeca Financial in 2010, and has since been enjoying the rewards and challenges of making people’s lives better through simple, personalised financial strategies. A model ambassador for living his good life, Ryan plans his week (both professional and personal) in advance every Sunday night, and always makes sure that his family has their next holiday planned – even if it’s just a mini-weekend getaway.

Ryan loves being able to grow and evolve alongside Tribeca, ensuring that we remain true to our company values. He believes in using simple, jargon-free language to help people make smart decisions with their money and get exactly what they want. Always looking to better himself, Ryan enjoys taking study tours which combine two of his favourite things – travel and connecting with great minds on innovative ideas. In his quest to experience new things, he and two of his friends are even planning to start lessons for their pilot’s licences before the end of 2018.

Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning), RMIT/Open University, 2012 Bachelor of Management, UNISA, 2010 Moving from Adelaide to Melbourne over three years ago, Mariana can’t imagine going back. Having completed two business degrees – one in management and one in financial planning, she is on track to achieve her goal of becoming a Financial Adviser. Passionate about working with people, Mariana loves how the Tribeca culture encourages her to take the extra step to get to know each of her clients personally. Mariana lives her good life by surrounding herself with people that make a positive contribution to her life and enjoys having the freedom to do things that make her happy. One of these is Bachata dancing, which lets her switch off from every day stress and feel present in the moment. When she isn’t working or dancing the night away, you’ll often catch her spending time with family and friends or scouting out new cafes and bars to try out.

Melissa Macleod
Client Experience Leader
Spending her childhood in Napier, New Zealand, Mel first discovered her energy and passion for people in her parents’ supermarket in Bay View. Growing up in the family business taught her how to connect with people and helped form her unique understanding of how important local businesses are to their community. Mel’s experience and confidence continued to grow as she developed her communication skills from working in client service fields. On her lunch break, you can usually hear Mel encouraging team members to join her on a run around Albert Park lake or chatting about her Tonkinese cats, Arlo and Aster – they even have their own Instagram page! Mel loves the Melbourne arts and culture scene, so she indulges herself on the weekends by attending gallery openings and performances, as well taking time out to relax at a local café for brunch with family and friends.
Michael Sauer
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Monash University, 2014 Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance), Monash University, 2014 Born and raised in Melbourne, Michael studied accounting and finance at Monash University. After finishing his degree, he came to the realisation that these areas of business focused solely on a person’s financial situation and didn’t allow for holistic advice on a person’s wellbeing, which led him to enter the financial planning industry. Michael has recently completed his Certified Financial Planner studies, which has given him the expertise needed to help him offer tailor-made solutions to ensure that his clients are able to reach their goals and live their Good Life.

Michael strives to devote as much time to his bucket list as his job list by travelling, cooking, attending sporting events and beating his work mate Luke in FIFA.

David Lofthouse
Associate Adviser
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) BSc (Honours) Business & Management, Aston University Business School, 2008 Originally from the UK, David’s background is in business finance and accounting. He joined the Tribeca team in 2017 with three years of prior experience in the Australian financial planning industry. David’s determination to help his clients reach financial wellbeing drove him to attain his CFP designation in 2017. His passion for coaching people towards achieving their personal goals extends beyond his role in the Tribeca team, as he is also a qualified personal trainer and holds further accreditation in nutrition. For David, living his good life means striking the right balance between travelling the world and taking time to relax and enjoy what’s closer to home – usually by going to the gym and playing the guitar.
Jiing Chiang
Head of Paraplanning & Compliance
Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance), Monash University, 2010 A Melbournian through and through, Jiing attended Melbourne High School before obtaining his bachelor’s degree in business. Growing up, he always had an infatuation with language and words, living by the motto that ‘the pen is mightier than the sword’. Starting off his career by working for various financial institutions, Jiing witnessed how impersonal the decisions of big corporations could be, and realised that his desire to help people achieve their goals could be better achieved in the financial planning industry. So, combining his love of numbers with his passion for writing, he made the decision to become a Paraplanner and has never looked back. In his spare time, Jiing will usually be enjoying live music, playing video games or catching a movie – The King of Comedy is one of his all-time favourites.
Adam Turco
Mortgage Consultant
Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, 2016 Credit Representative Number – 479492 Born and raised in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Adam still calls Greensborough home. With years of experience working for businesses in forecasting and logistics, he has a keen eye for numbers. His drive to make decisions with his clients’ best interests in mind gives his clients both confidence and guidance when it comes to optimising their loan structures. This, paired with his ability to understand others wants and needs, means that he is able to provide solutions that exceed expectations. Adam and his wife are the proud parents of three young boys, so he understands the importance of living a balanced lifestyle. When he was sixteen, Adam went to circus school, where he learnt to juggle and ride a unicycle. His inner child is still alive and well to this day, living his Good Life by coaching his kids’ basketball teams and relaxing with some video games.

Having always been interested in the financial services industry, she took a huge leap and decided to undertake her Master of Financial Planning – a decision that helped her find her passion for helping people! Bev loves animals and in the future, hopes to retire in her own animal rescue farm. In the meantime, you can find her at the gym or enjoying a dance class.
Luke Mase

Luke started working for Tribeca a month after finishing university and has now been with the team for nearly four years. His ability to create strong relationships allows him to provide personalised advice that enables his clients to achieve what is truly important to them. A diehard Richmond Tigers supporter, Luke is ecstatic about his team’s recent Grand Final win, making the years of heartache a distant memory. When he’s not in the office or at the football, he enjoys spending time with his partner Mandy, catching up with friends and giving FIFA lessons to his colleague Michael (although he will tell you otherwise!).
