My Good Life

My Good Life®. It’s what sits behind everything we do for our clients. For you it could mean having clarity about your financial situation, or having the freedom and confidence to make choices when you want to make them. It comes down to what really matters to you most.

So how can we help achieve your version of My Good Life?

How we help you

Security

Removing financial worries and barriers

That’s our first priority as having peace of mind in the now and future is priceless. Using human-centred tools such as our Financial Wellbeing Matrix and 10-3-Now goal mapping, allows us to identify your pain points and shape a meaningful and practical plan for you. Our benchmark financial modelling also supports and empowers you to achieve your dreams and goals.

Freedom

Isn't that what we all want?

Making the most of every moment has a lot to do with knowing you have the freedom to make choices. For some this might happen quickly, for others it may take time. But what’s important is the confidence that comes from being clear on what the road ahead looks like, and the reassurance that we’re with you every step of the way to see it happen.

Simplicity

No-one wants jargon. Or red tape

Financial advice should make your life easier, not harder. When we started out, one of our goals was to make advice simple. It’s why we use the latest technology to streamline documentation. We’ll update and educate you on relevant trends and insights by breaking them down so you don’t need to. And we’ll always encourage you to ask questions and challenge us.

Support

This is what advice is all about

It’s being there for you when times are good, and when life throws up curveballs. Our holistic approach to advice enables us to cater for all of life’s stages, whether that’s setting up insurances and portfolios, helping you buy a property, supporting you in times of difficulty or opportunity, or preparing for retirement. And you’ll always have a dedicated Tribe of experts looking after you.

Value

We measure value in two ways

There’s the financial value our advice should deliver back to you in strengthening aspects like your investments, super and cash position. We refer to this as the Value Factor, where you can expect us to return 4-6 times our fees in value. And then there’s the less tangible emotional value that flows from feeling in control of your finances and choices.

Leah's
story

Leah Martin’s life was turned upside down when her husband Lou passed away suddenly. While facing the tragedy and grief of losing a loved one, Leah also had to deal with no income coming in from Lou to support her and her 9yr old and 14 yr old daughters, and the added concern of a lapsed life insurance policy. To make matters even more complex, Lou had no Will in place and had shares in a company he created with three other partners that could potentially impact his Estate…

Reassuring Leah was our first priority. The next was freeing up some funds for her to maintain her lifestyle and financial commitments. This involved arranging for a part payout of Life Insurance to help with items such as bills and everyday living expenses, lifting a significant weight off Leah’s shoulders. As we set about helping to resolve Lou’s Estate (which was achieved successfully enabling Leah to become debt free), we also helped restructure her finances including updating the Life Insurance and Illness Policy and creating a Will, giving Leah the peace of mind knowing that her girls would be taken care of if something was to happen.

It’s a fact that many people don’t know the details of their superannuation investments. And that can be costly. By educating you about the finer details of your super, we can help you understand the big picture of what your retirement lifestyle might look like – and take steps to make sure your super is growing, not dwindling.
Superannuation is one of those big ticket items when it comes to your financial future. It’s the key plank of your retirement, tied in strongly with how you can best maximise your savings and spending in those twilight years.

Your life is worth protecting. Our goal is to ensure you’re on track to meet your short and long-term goals, while still feeling financially free to enjoy life now. And knowing you’ll be leaving a legacy for others. A solid estate plan allows for much more than a Will, providing strategies to manage the disbursement of your assets and protect the needs of the people you care about most.
Most of us don’t want to think about what happens if we lose a partner. It’s an uncomfortable conversation to have. But not having an estate plan in place such as a valid Will can make an unbearable situation far worse. This was the case for Tribeca client Lahra Carey, who shares her story to offer up essential lessons about estate planning, bank account access, and financial preparedness for every family.

Listen to Lahra's story.

To protect your finances from the inevitable curveballs life tends to throw, it’s critical to have the back-up and peace of mind of an effective and appropriate insurance plan. Yes, it can be hard justifying paying for something you may never need, but knowing your lifestyle – and your family’s financial future – is secure no matter what tomorrow holds is worth every cent.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst is a truism. We really need to be prepared for the unexpected. But insurance is one of those areas that we often decide to forgo or choose the absolute minimum – which can end up coming at a cost. It’s one of the many money mistakes we discuss in this podcast episode to help you avoid falling into these common traps.

Listen to the most common money mistakes and how to avoid them.

Making your money work harder for you. That’s what you want from your investments. It starts by clearly defining your goals, risk profile and timings; and then checking in regularly to ensure your investment strategy is on track or circumstances haven’t changed. That’s how you’ll profit not just from returns, but from the security and freedom that comes from seeing your finances strengthen.
Choosing the right investments for our clients is one of the most critical, and satisfying, parts of our job. But how do we keep up with the latest products and trends; and how do you know that the advice we give is considered from every possible angle?

Debt. For some just hearing the word can really bring down the mood. For others, it’s water off a duck’s back. Whatever reaction you have, we can help you maximise the benefits of good debt (think investments) and reduce or remove the bad (think credit cards). It comes down to giving you the support and tools to take charge of your finances and enhance that sense of security and freedom.

There’s no easy way to reduce debt. But if you can start chipping away at areas like your home loan and credit cards as well as maximise your essential utility choices, the payoff can be significant. To help, we’ve put together a bill comparison guide, to get those savings happening before you know it.

Of course you can go it alone with your finances. But for many people this question hides an underlying worry about reaching out for financial advice in the first place.

In this podcast episode with Tribeca’s Non-Executive Chairman and advice industry stalwart Brad Fox, we talk through the costs of inaction (money, time, wellbeing) and share some inspiring stories of where conversations with a trusted advisor have stripped away these barriers, transforming lives and choices for the better.

In this article

This is easily one of the key barriers to people seeking out financial advice. The belief that it’s just for the rich. But what does being ‘rich’ mean anyway?

In this article
we debunk many of the myths surrounding financial advice and the people who can benefit from it, showing how a trusted adviser can help build finances and security from the ground up, as well as manage and grow wealth.

It’s a good question. One of the ones we get asked the most. Our take is that we’re here to help you build the life you want by creating a financial roadmap that will make it happen – together.

Cost is one of the major considerations when choosing financial advice. And understandably so, as you want to be confident that the value you receive far outweighs the fees you pay.

In this article
