Story

Everyone has a story. Moments that define who we are and what we want to be. For Tribeca, our story began in New York.

The big apple is where a big idea took shape for Ryan, our CEO and founder. While walking the streets of Tribeca, he was drawn to the energy and vibrancy. A place full of possibility and opportunity.

That’s the aspirations he wanted to imbue in a new business.

He believed financial advice could and should be doing more. For too long the industry had been closed off to what’s possible. And where the focus favoured the product; not the person. He wanted to capture that sense of New York opportunity and turn it into something.

Something inspiring. Something real. So he did. He called it Tribeca.

Culture

A group of male and female financial advisors standing around a table, smiling at each other while looking at a laptop.

There’s a reason we like to refer to ourselves as a Tribe. A Tribe shares a common culture. Ours is to work with respect, empathy, innovation, honesty and commitment. While wonderfully diverse and unique, what binds us is our love for what we do. And what Tribeca offers. To help change lives for the better.

Possibility and opportunity.

Why

Why are we always striving for a better way to provide financial advice? To make things easier; less complicated. To challenge ourselves and the industry to do more. Be more.

It’s engrained in our DNA. Ryan knows what it’s like to live pay check to pay check. He’s lived the struggle, and determination, of a single mother providing for her family. It’s why our bottom line is not about numbers on a balance sheet, it’s about creating security for people and the freedom to make choices. It’s being there when times are difficult, and when the possibilities are endless.

That’s life-changing financial advice.

Tribe

What makes a Tribe member? Well we’re inquisitive to start with. It’s why many of us continue to study and upskill our roles while at Tribeca. It’s also why we take a deep interest in the lives of our clients.

We’re individuals. That’s important. We all come from different walks of life with interests and passions that are embraced and celebrated; this diversity adding to the fabric of Tribeca. It also makes it a fun place to be.

And we come with a human-centred mindset, which simply means we lead with empathy in truly understanding the needs and aspirations of our clients.

She also practices what she preaches, prioritising her own wellbeing by keeping active and exploring new adventures with family and friends.

Dan

It’s not surprising Dan takes a holistic view to life and finance. In moving his eleven year career as a financial planner in South Africa to Australia, Dan came with a mission to not only further himself, but also the lives of Australians and fellow expats from his homeland. He does this in many ways, through applying his extensive knowledge across all areas of advice. And also through sharing his experiences and insights on financial strategy and wellness through various initiatives (stay tuned for his new look blog).

For him it’s simply about helping clients live their best life, no matter the circumstances. He certainly sees age as no barrier, which is why he is particularly passionate about equipping retirees to make the most of their ’20 year holiday’. He’s also a keen author, another aspect of Warwick’s own fascinating life story.

Lenny

Snapshot: Associate Advisor. Women’s finance advocate. Empathic ally.

Lenny shows a natural ability to problem solve and strategise, as well as build strong relationships with clients based on mutual trust, empathy and respect. Ben doesn’t believe in taking half measures. Keen for a broader view of life and finance, his stint working in the UK not only fuelled and expanded his skills in investment advice, it saw him return with a greater perspective and appreciation of the role he can play in his client’s lives. This determination to keep improving and challenge himself is not restricted to his career, with Ben being one of those unique individuals who thrives on putting mind and body to the ultimate test by competing in marathons.

Tori

Snapshot: Associate Advisor. Brave heart. Dog whisperer.

Putting people first. It’s how Tori likes to live her life, and why she’s such a valuable part of our Tribe. She is determined to see everyone around her not just be happy, but to thrive. One of her great strengths is building strong relationships with her clients and colleagues, drawing on her experience in financial services to provide outstanding service. Another strength she brings to Tribeca is her extremely clever and beautiful dog Kora – an honorary Tribe member who often joins client meetings.

Andrew

Sean

Snapshot: Director / Senior Advisor. Finance leader. Self-starter.

Sean is not afraid of change, having switched careers after 17 successful years in corporate accounting to move into financial advice in 2008; and then soon after start up his own consultancy. It was the idea of being able to make a direct impact on people’s lives that drove all of this change, and naturally lead him to align with Tribeca in 2015. Making an impact is still what motivates him today, especially in helping his many long-term clients achieve a healthy balance in their lives.

Ryan

Snapshot: CEO. Bold thinker. Industry disruptor.

Ryan doesn’t believe in standing still. This attitude to life and work – learnt from the steely determination of a single-mum – led him to creating a business in Tribeca that not only changed peoples lives for the better, but disrupted how financial advice was being delivered. This single-minded focus to put people first continues to inspire our Tribe to live their Good Life and in turn empower thousands of individuals and families to do the same.

Tash

Snapshot: COO. Human-centred. Spirited innovator.

It’s what’s driven him to be a professional Australian Rules footballer, past National President of the Association of Financial Advisers, and a strategic voice in the direction of Tribeca and numerous other businesses. He strongly believes you need the judgement to make the right decision, and the courage to implement it. It’s why he is incredibly supportive and hands-on in growing the personal strength, resilience and enthusiasm of our Tribe to help clients live their Good Life.

Matt

Snapshot: Senior Advisor. Cashflow crusader. Fierce competitor.

Matt likes to see people achieve their financial and life goals. He wants them to come out on top, particularly in helping free up that all important cashflow to live the life they want (he’s pretty strong on this one). He’s naturally competitive and driven, which is great for clients in inspiring them to take control of their finances and go for their dreams, but not so good for the Tribe when playing him in a game of office table tennis or out on the golf course.

Kirsten

Snapshot: Practice Manager. Problem solver. People person.

Not many people can say they’re doing their dream job. Kirsten does. There’s three things she absolutely adores about her role – meeting people, solving problems and making Tribeca hum. Lucky for us she’s exceptional in each one, ensuring our advice processes continue to set the standard and our clients remain firmly at the core of everything we do. Her desire to help people goes well beyond our office walls, through making every moment count with family and friends to supporting community and charitable initiatives.

Sophia

Snapshot: Client Experience Associate. Goal setter. Fur baby mum.
